I figured that I would start my blog off with the subject with the most meat. I'm sure that there will be plenty of discussion about this topic so here I present a few questions and what I think.
We all know that before the show can come to an end (not that I want it to) Ted Mosby must tell the story of how he met the mother of his children. But who is that woman? It's been established that the mother of the children is not Robin since she is referred to in the narrations as Aunt Robin. This is actually a sad point when you think about it because I was originally really behind the Ted & Robin relationship but if she isn't the mother then that means at some point they must break up. Doesn't it? This really sucks to think about since they're together now and I do like them together.
Here is my theory (based on the story up until this point): I think that the mother is Victoria. Remember Victoria? The baker of the wedding cake that Marshall loved, the mysterious Buttercup girl at the wedding? She was great with Ted! I loved how they got together and I loved how great they were together. But then Victoria went off to Germany for her culinary fellowship. So they break up. BUT Victoria's fellowship is only for two years (I'll double check this later) so she could come back into the story. A season is a year in television land so if the writers don't forget about Victoria she could re-emerge some time next season! Then she and Ted could get back together! And then Victoria is their mother.
Obviously I could be way off and the mother could be a woman they don't introduce for a long time. That's just my thoughts on the subject for now.
